Art Wall Installation
Ron Robinson elevates retail into an art-form and immediately recognized Airplantman’s similar refined aesthetic and high quality. Josh admittedly was just shopping for clothes when he first met Ron and couldn't help but share both his admiration and own unique design. The result was a large ‘art wall’ installation at the Santa Monica Flagship store which greets customers as they enter and from the sidewalk. A truly eye-catching piece which we routinely receive comments!
Using an asymmetrical layout that highlights a variety of AirplantFrame sizes and colors creating drama and movement that grabs the eye of passersby and customers alike. The inspiration was art gallery walls in museums and salons of Europe where a range of sizes and shapes. This creates movement and interest for the overall composition while each piece is also a stand alone element of 'living art'. Our AirplantFrames are fabricated locally in Los Angeles and utilize a level of thoughtful design highlighting both the beauty of air plants while ensuring they are also both healthy and happy. Single smaller frames like these when used in an indoor setting without built in irrigation hang easily from a nail or screw much like a picture frame. Notches centered on every side on the back of each frame make it easy to display in any orientation. The aluminum construction and soil-less air plants or Tillandsia mean each piece is incredibly light and easy to take down when time for watering. This can be done by either spraying or soaking the plants while inside the waterproof frame.
Illuminated Airplants
A series of illuminated niches on the wall feature the AirplantVessel tabletop accent and continue the museum like quality of this Airplantman installation. These sculptural pieces are a favorite of our customers and interior designers alike as a memorable tabletop display piece. The lack of soil makes them clean and great for kitchens, bathrooms, or retail displays. We included a variety for Ron Robinson including our powder coated steel, hand finished wood, along with glazed and unglazed ceramic. We love how the vessel evokes the simple form of a sculpture base while the plant bring all the drama and artfullness found in the world's greatest artworks. The process of selecting and hand wiring the perfect air plant in scale, shape, form, and color to match it's base is always a fun part of our process. Each piece is as unique and different as the amazing genus of Tillandsia or air plants and when displayed in groups this diversity is further highlighted. We welcome custom requests on material, sizes, and finish to create a tabletop display for your special project. Include your company's branding into the vessel as well using our waterproof silk screening process.
